This is a model of the now-defunct "River Dam Model Works", kit #S-SS2, built by Ria. Ria pretty much followed the instructions in building this rural post office. She added a mini diorama around it, and I added an internal light to give the building some life. The last photo shows the under-the-roof installation. I applied the 9V battery holder to the the roof using Velcro®. The roof of the kit is made out of cardstock, so Ria re-enforced it with some stripwood. To the battery holder's wires I soldered a 330-ohm resistor and that was soldered to the "+" terminal of the SMD (surface-mount) LED. The "-" wire was soldered to the other terminal, completing the circuit. With the battery inserted, the roof is quite heavy and it stays in place on the structure.
