The toy museum in Nuremberg, Germany hosts a huge S-scale layout. The 325sqft layout was built between 1950 and 1974 by Dr. Wolfram Bismarck in his spare time, most of it scratchbuilt. The owner of the Shelburne Museum in Vermont was a friend of A.C.Gilbert. Gilbert built an American Flyer layout at the museum in 1954, but it was retired in 1970. The authors all got together and built a new AF layout for the museum. Includes photos and a track plan.
